Laser assisted in site keratomileusis, or "Lasik" is an outpatient surgery used to treat myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. With Lasik, Dr. Mohammadi uses a microsurgical instrument and a laser to reshape the cornea to improve the way the eye focusses light rays onto the retina. Lasik is performed in an outpatient surgical suite.
PRK is another techique to correct refrctive error without using microkeratom. Each tecnique has advantage and disadvantage and Dr. Mohammadi decides which procedure is better for each patient based on eye examination and patient prefrences.
